Daily Averages Gold Clearing Data - August 2023

The volume of gold transferred in August increased by 0.2% month on month (m/m) to 16.8 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred down 1.3% m/m to $32.2 bn. There were 4,184 transfers, 1.0% higher m/m, with the clearers settling on average 4,008 ounces per transfer, 0.9% lower m/m.

Daily Averages Silver Clearing Data - August 2023

For silver, the volume of ounces transferred increased by 1.5% m/m to 247.0 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred down 1.0% m/m to $5.8 bn. The number of transfers decreased by 8.3% m/m to 1,567, with the clearers settling on average 157,606 ounces per transfer, 10.7% higher m/m.

The average gold/silver price ratio in August was down to 79.9 from 81.1 in July.
