The volume of gold transferred in February decreased by 0.2% month on month (m/m) to 17.7 mn, with the corresponding value transferred down 2.5% m/m to $32.8 bn. There were 4,313 transfers, 6.2% higher m/m, with the clearers settling on average 4,096 ounces per transfer, 6% lower m/m.

For silver, the volume of ounces transferred increased by 8.9% m/m to 269.6 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred up 0.9% m/m to $5.9 bn. The number of transfers decreased by 1.2% m/m to 1,847, with the clearers settling on average 145,982 ounces per transfer, 10.2% higher m/m.

The average gold/silver price ratio in February was up to 84.2 from 79.9 in January.
