Daily Averages Gold Clearing Data - January 2023

The volume of gold transferred in January decreased by 16.4% month on month (m/m) to 17.7 mn, with the corresponding value transferred down 11.6% m/m to $33.6 bn. There were 4,063 transfers, 5.3% higher m/m, with the clearers settling on average 4,358 ounces per transfer, 20.6% lower m/m.

Daily Averages Silver Clearing Data - January 2023

For silver, the volume of ounces transferred increased by 1.8% m/m to 247.6 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred up 4.0% m/m to $5.9 bn. The number of transfers decreased by 9.3% m/m to 1,870, with the clearers settling on average 132,417 ounces per transfer, 12.2% higher m/m.

The average gold/silver price ratio in January was up to 79.9 from 77.3 in December.
