Daily Averages Gold Clearing Data - January 2024

The volume of gold transferred in January decreased by 6.8% month on month (m/m) to 20.3 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred down 6.6% m/m to $41.3 bn. There were 5,014 transfers, 6.4% higher m/m, with the clearers settling on average 4,054 ounces per transfer, 12.5% lower m/m.

Daily Averages Silver Clearing Data - January 2024

For silver, the volume of ounces transferred increased by 2.5% m/m to 223.5 mn ounces, with the corresponding value transferred down 2% m/m to $5.1 bn. The number of transfers decreased by 17% m/m to 1,302, with the clearers settling on average 171,652 ounces per transfer, 23.5% higher m/m.

The average gold/silver price ratio in January increased to 88.6 from 84.6 in December.
